Have you ever wondered if God cares about the little things in your life that are important to you?
About 4 years ago on mother’s day, my husband gave me and planted several rose bushes. I love roses. Well, after the roses were planted he was deployed to Iraq. I spent countless hours watering, fertilizing, and weeding these flowers. And while doing so I would pray. I would pray for him, for us, for our family, for him to come back safe. And much to my surprise, 2 of these rose bushes grown and bloomed so much that they became my babies. The roses on these got so big and beautiful and have grown over 7 fit tall. I asked God to bless them and He definitely did!
When we moved recently, it was the dead of winter, so I wasn’t able to bring my roses to the new house. But this Mother’s Day my husband went to the old house, and dug all of them up for me. I was so excited. I asked God keep them safe as we transplanted and transported them. There was a certain rose that was huge, and as were driving I asked God to let me have at least one rose left on the bush. We get home and guess which one was still intact? Yep, the huge pink rose right in the center of the bush! My eyes welled up with tears that something that may seem trivial and small to others, God cared about it because I cared about it. He kept that big beautiful rose in tact in the back of the truck when the wind blew all other rose petal away. See He could have left me a small rose; I would have been ok with that. But no, God left me the best.
He reminded me again that He truly cares about every detail of my life. Our God wants the best for us; He wants to give us the best. Sometimes things we go through may not seem ideal or even what we want. But His ways and plans for us are always better than our own plans.
Our verse today is Ps 31:24 “Be strong and let your heart take courage, All you who hope in the Lord.”
It’s encouraging to me to know that God cares about the little things, as much as he does the big things. I love it when he uses things like this to speak to me and remind me just how much He loves me. What has He done to show you His love lately?
