What comes to your mind when you hear the word faithful? I’m sure lots of things may be popping into your mind. Maybe it’s someone that has been there for you without question, any time of the day or night or any circumstance. Webster defines faithful as this:
- full of faith
- steadfast in affection or allegiance : loyal
- firm in adherence to promises or in observance of duty : conscientious
Having someone in your life that is faithful is important. It is something that is valued in friendship, in relationships, in the church. If someone is faithful, you know that you can count on them. That you can rely on them to do what needs to be done, you trust them. You know that if you leave something in their hands it will be accomplished in the way that it needs to. A faithful person is there for you no matter what. No questions asked. They are there for you before anyone else is. A faithful person is a treasure.
I have several close friends and family that are going through some hard circumstances right now. Some are hurting, some are not sure what’s going to happen, some are scared. And as I have been praying for them, and reading today’s chapter, I’m once again awed at how awesome God is.
Chapter 36, verse 5 says, “Your lovingkindness, O Lord, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.”
God is faithful. When no one else is, when nothing seems to be going right, when life knocks you down, God is faithful. He is always there, He will never leave or forsake you. He has greats plans for you. He is strong when we are weak, we can trust Him. Even when you don’t think you can stand another second, God is faithful. Even when you’re tired and ready to give up, God is faithful.
This such an encouragement to me. I’m so thankful for God’s faithfulness. If you are going through anything right now, just remember that God is faithful. He will bring you out of whatever circumstance that you are going through, and in the end it will make you stronger.
Hugs,
Erin
