I love to watch my children’s faces when I tell them that I love them. Their eyes light up, they smile big, and you can tell that I just made their day. Daniel will then get into a I love you more war and then laugh when I finally give up and tell him that he wins. Bella will grin and say “too!” That’s her version of I love you too. Three little words, but words full of power. I don’t know a single person that doesn’t want to hear someone say I love you. They may struggle with saying it themselves or showing that they care, but they crave it deep inside. Everyone wants to feel loved and know that they have someone who cares for them so much.
I was thinking about this today as I was driving to Murray. Thinking about how powerful love is, how fierce, how sometimes it sneaks up on you and takes ahold of you and doesn’t let go. I was thinking about how much God loves us and was once again reminded of just how much. It’s completely blows my mind at how much God actually loves me. He doesn’t love me for who I am, but in spite of who I am. He knows my thoughts, my dreams, my actions, my past, my mistakes, and he loves me anyway.
I was thinking today about how much I love to tell my children I love them and say it as many times a day as I can. I love to see their reaction and their face light up. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves that God loves us. To realize that truth all over again, to let that sink in and to feel that love the way we did the very first time. To let that wash over us and refresh our spirits. To remind us just how crazy in love our Saviour is with us, and how we should be with Him. One of my favorite songs right now is “You love me anyway” by Sidewalk Prophets. The chorus goes “But You love me anyway, It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known, You love me anyway. Oh Lord, how You love me, How You love me.” It’s a beautiful song and worth checking out.
There are several verses from chapter 30 that really jump out at me, one of my favorites is verse 5, “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.” But I want to look at the last verse, “That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.” I will sing praises and be thankful of His love for me forever.
Are you thankful for His love? My prayer for you is that you realize just how much He loves you. If you were the only person on this earth, He still would have went to the cross and died for you. You haven’t experienced anything until you experience His love. It is an amazing, life changing experience.
Hugs,
Erin
