This year has been a roller coaster of emotions. As most of you already know and follow our story, our youngest son was diagnosed with Leukemia right after Christmas last year.
He is in Remission and while we are so thankful for that, we still have a year and a half left of treatments. We travel every week to St. Jude and it can be very tiring and of course, we still have a long road for Gabe to be completely cured and healed.
As I said, it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions this year. I had to close my store due to Gabe’s illness, but God opened another door for me and now my dream of becoming a published author and an Acquisition Editor has come true! I started working with MRP this fall and my debut novel will be released in February.
Jacob and I always buy the kids a new “themed” ornament each year so once it comes times for them to move out one day, they will have ornaments to start their own trees. Daniel gets snowmen, Bella gets angels, and Gabe gets Santa. This year as they opened and hung them on the tree, I couldn’t help but tear up because we got them St. Jude ornaments.
These ornaments represent so many emotions to me. Sadness for Gabe’s cancer, joy for his Remission, strength to keep fighting, and hope that one day he will completely cured.
I hope all of my readers have a wonderful and blessed Christmas this year!
Hugs,
Erin
